Temporary Litigation Legal Assistant
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy team of attorneys in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining professionalism and composure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in state and federal litigation matters, including understanding removals and related procedures
- Prepare and format legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and deposition notices (TOA/TOC formatting required)
- Assist with discovery processes, drafting shells, and managing case materials
- Handle expense reports and administrative tasks as needed
- Utilize systems such as NetDocs and Compulaw for document management and calendaring coordination (with docketing team)
- Provide overflow support across teams and manage a 4:1 attorney desk
- Proofread and finalize documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to firm standards
Qualifications:
- Prior litigation support experience required; familiarity with both state and federal court processes preferred
- Strong knowledge of legal document formatting, proofreading, and styles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (NetDocs, Compulaw a plus)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under heavy workloads
- High level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and discretion
- Team-oriented with a flexible attitude to assist where needed
